Grand Isle before the oil spill!
The kids got to see Grand Isle just days following the explosion of the drilling platform that is now threatening the entire Gulf Coast. What a mess! I am thrilled the kids went before, and we will be heading back in summer to show them a different aspect of the island and its habitat. Please keep and eye out for ways to help the Gulf Coast. Wildlife, plants, and people are being greatly impacted by this disaster.

Canoeing Trip a Sucess
No one tipped a canoe! I call that a success. They did well, just a few coaching comments. The kids canoed for two miles. After canoeing, the kids were invited to join in the Cajun Music Jam. They all were able to try and play the steel guitar, fiddle, guitar, or accordeon.

Last but not least we weeded the beds and sent home a happy but tired group of kids!
